I believe that trying to solve the problem of understanding complex business relationships cannot be defined in value chain or supply chain analysis. Value stream analysis needs to happen in the context of value networks where the actors and how they relate in a dynamicly complex environment brings complexity.

Basically, we've found that using any form of non-systemic oriented problem solving technique will only frustrate you. One such technique could be: systems modeling.
